http://www.gwern.net/Wikipedia%20and%20Knol

The article has good points. Even though I do not agree with the idea that Knol has not proved its utility. Knol proved its utility to readers and progressing every day. I made a comment already and I need to go back and make more detailed comment.

Knol Author Foundation Congratulates Professor Rao

/EINPresswire.com/ Knol Author Foundation (KAF) congratulates Professor K.V.S.S. Narayana Rao, the top contributor, guide and influential leader on the knol platform.

Knol Author Foundation (KAF) congratulates Professor K.V.S.S. Narayana Rao, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, India for achieving 100,000 page views a month for his knol portfolio. Right from day one, he realized the need for cooperation among knol authors to support and promote the newly started wiki-based article platform and he started vigorously posting knols on vital subjects. He encouraged many authors through comments. While the idea of an author association germinated in many authors’ minds, Prof. Rao took significant steps to contact and bring top authors at that time together and played an active role in the formation of Knol Author Federation (KAF). As the president of the foundation, he has worked continuously for the success of the knol platform. Knol author bulletin board, Knol Directory of interesting Knols, and knols on the topic of Knol promotion are some of his significant knols. Apart from writing large number of knols on Industrial Engineering and Management, he has significantly succeeded in recruiting new authors. He has also promoted the Knol platform in social media and took great pains to answer various negative comments on Knol. He is promoting knol on Twitter, Facebook, Orkut and Google+. He has a number of followers and fans.

Dr. Narayana Rao presented his course plans and course related material through Knol articles and his students appreciated the focused articles on various topics on the subject. Students also shared their course assignments on Knol, thereby facilitating knowledge sharing among students themselves. He was awarded the first prize for this innovative successful use of Knol in business school pedagogy by the Association of Indian Management Schools . His innovative mind came up with the Knol book concept incorporating chapters and sections in Knol collections (today a feature of Knol) and today a large number of Knol books are available on various subjects. The interesting feature of Knol book is that it combines articles by various authors written at various points in time into a unified whole that is of great benefit to learners. This collection also facilitates identifying gaps and filling those gaps by Knol authors.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Gandhiji's Dream - A Poem

Gandhi's Dream for Villages of India

A cow in every house
provided with plentiful green grass

carpenters, tailors
potters and shoppers
business every where
with plenty to share

A doctor to look after
Good leader to administer
A teacher for children to grow
A bank for wealth to flow

Gandhi's dream
For me, it is supreme

by Narayana Rao, Vamsi, Priyanka
