The monthly visitors number has gone up to 57,000 and monthly page views to 80,000. I thank all visitors to my articles in blogs as well as on Knol.

50,000 monthly visitors for knol portfolio

Happy to record the fact that my knol portfolio had 50,000 visitors for the montly period ending on 5.5.2011. Took approximately three years for the milestone. I am hoping that this number will doube in a year's time and my portfolio will have 100,000 (one lakh) visitors.

Content gives page views on article platforms

Knol is an article platform. The platform is still to attract million articles. Content is essential to attract page views to the platform. Knol authors have to make efforts to recruit more authors and accumulate million articles quickly. Simultaneously they can make efforts to improve quality of each article and for creating backlinks for them.

A comparison of various article platforms in now available to observe this phenomenon.

I always advocated that on Knol many authors have posted good content. But there is no way we can easily find out good content on Knol and highlight them to all.

10 Million Page Views for Online Articles Possible

There are online article writers on Hubpages, Associated content, Ezine, etc. with 10 million page views (Details of 10 million authors ). Even on Knol there is one author now with 5 million page views and in a year's time, he will reach 10 million page views. There are some more authors who will reach such milestones on Knol. I am presently having 35,000 page views and some time back, the number could be 50,000 page views. The number is likely to increase as the Knol platform becomes more popular and authors support each other more.

So there is scope for online writing even now. Especially when the area of writing is areas where online content is sparse, the chance of success increases significantly.
